Mother's Day Poem

Being

With waves

Of sound

Of light

Of smell

We come to know the world.

The tides

Of gassy breath

Are how we touch,

Exchange, belong,

To all the other

Molecules.

The gutty depth

That plummets

Through emotion

Sounds the ocean

Of response.

But nothing

Even from the raft of thought

Accounts for consciousness.
